About Us

Sun Kiss Tanning opened in Columbia City, IN on October 1, 2006 by Jeanne Pfeiffer and her daughter, Jade Pfeiffer Wigent.  Together, they wanted to bring something luxurious to the tanning market of Columbia City.  In the initial stages, Jeanne and Jade met with Steve and Tonya Leach from southern Indiana who had a thriving, multi-location Sun Kiss Tanning operation.  Using their business model, they were able to work together and offer something truly unique to the community while remaining independent, locally owned, and non-franchised.  

In June of 2011, Jeanne and Jade contacted Megan Palmer Thornton with an opportunity to start new ownership of Sun Kiss Tanning.  Megan officially took over the business August 1, 2011.  She is a 2003 graduate of Columbia City High School and resides in Fort Wayne, IN.  With the mentoring and friendship of Jeanne, Jade, Steve, and Tonya, Sun Kiss Tanning continues to have an impeccable reputation for being the cleanest, safest, and friendliest tanning environment around. 

On February 1st, 2016, Sun Kiss was purchased by Reffitt Investments, LLC.  After years of being a customer, Jenny Middleton is excited to continue the tradition of excellence Jeanne, Jade, and Megan have provided.  Jenny is the owner/operator, and you'll often see her at the salon working alongside the staff or rolling up her sleeves fixing beds, doing cleaning, etc. In October of 2017, Jenny relocated the Salon to its current location. She has added 4 Ergoline Beds & a Spray Tan Booth in 2019. We now have 17 Tanning Beds, 1 Spray Tan Booth, a Custom Spray Tan Room, plus an ongoing expanding Boutique Line up.
